The new Crockett Middle School replaces the original 1950’s facility with a modern, four-story structure along Hwy. 183 in Irving, Texas.
As a part of Irving ISD's 2023 bond program, a series of community meetings with students, staff, parents, and leaders drove the planning and design phases where five key principles were identified: the media center as the heart of the school, diverse collaboration spaces, a lecture hall to support leadership-focused curriculum, four stories for capacity, and a visual "wow" factor reflecting Irving ISD's growth.
The building includes a four-story classroom tower, a two-story storm shelter, fine arts spaces, a competition gym with a stage, and various outdoor learning areas including a CTE/art courtyard.
